About The Daily Walrus

The Daily Walrus was my cousin, Michael Croghan's blog. He is my best friend and closest family.

On 2/15/19, I found him passed away due to a seizure in his sleep one month before his 41st birthday. He was prone to seizures since his teens. SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) is unfortunately a more common thing that one would think, and rarely discussed by doctors. If you or someone you know suffers from a seizure disorder, please encourage them to discuss this with their doctor and make sure they keep up with their medications.

Mikey was a brilliant mind. A self-trained software engineer who did the back-end work for the Pete's Coffee and 99 Ranch Market websites. He taught himself physics and was working on multiple projects including developing a program for AI, a Theory of Everything and a Community Model which was his framework for restructuring our entire financial system by empowering everyone as their own money issuing and decommissioning bank, which used people's natural greed to the benefit of the public and was all kept in check by local communities which were then kept in check by larger communities. It was a very radical change in the way we view currency.

But more importantly, he was a good man. Beautifully caring and compassionate, he was an endearing, and loyal friend.

I have chosen to use this as a site name to share new world ideas of both Mikey and myself as well as anyone else who wants to contribute. As well as promote progressive values in hopes of moving us to evolve as a species and better humanity as well as the world in general.

I have also included PDF versions of Michael's notebooks on this site in hopes that others more intelligent than I can decipher his notes and build upon them, perhaps taking them into new realms down the line that truly make a difference in the world.
